Chris is a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Forensic Technology practice with over 15 years of eDiscovery, digital forensic and cyber security experience. Chris frequently works in collaboration with clients to develop custom proactive and reactive responses to eDiscovery, digital forensic and cyber security threats.

Chris is recognized by Law Business Research’s Who’s Who Legal Canada as a leading eDiscovery practitioner in Canada. He has extensively worked on various eDiscovery projects, insider threat investigations, cyber incident response investigations, digital forensic investigations and with respect to the development and implementation of governance frameworks associated with security controls. Prior to joining KPMG, Chris worked at two of Canada’s leading national law firms where he was responsible for overseeing technology focused investigations, strategic engagement planning and execution, financial management, innovation and growth, risk management and business development initiatives. Chris has worked with clients on projects across various industries, including banking, construction, finance, government, manufacturing and professional services. Chris’ experience enables him to identify, implement and operationalize appropriate and cost-effective solutions to technology and security challenges.

Gretel Best, Manager of Litigation Support & eDiscovery, Gowlings WLG

Gretel Best is a senior law clerk and manager of litigation support & eDiscovery at Gowling WLG. Focusing primarily on large corporate/commercial litigation matters, Gretel assists clients and legal professionals in all areas of litigation — including documentary production, examinations for discovery, trials, appeals, inquiries, arbitrations and small claims court matters.

She has particularly extensive experience in large electronic discovery matters, as well as forensic electronic document preservation, collection and review for the purposes of litigation. This experience is underpinned by a sophisticated knowledge of various eDiscovery litigation support software platforms, including Relativity, AD Summation, iCONECT, Caselogistix, Clearwell and Ringtail.
